Dubmatix (born Jesse King) is a powerhouse who has won a global audience with his stylized dub, reggae and electro mixes and recordings. With close to 30 releases variously available as CDs, digital downloads, on vinyl, plus various mix and remix tapes, he is currently juggling a handful of new projects that touch on opera, Punjabi disco, as well as working with The English Beat. He works at home and on the road. This year he has played in France, Romania, Belgium, Germany and Costa Rica.
Do prefer being in the studio or being on tour?
Touring is a truly fantastic experience. Meeting people, traveling to so many great places and, of course, having the opportunity to play the music to audiences and watching they’re reaction. I feel very fortunate to be able to tour regularly and continue to expand into new territories around the globe. That being said, the studio is where I’ve spent so much time since my early childhood. The studio is like another appendage for me (ha-ha!).
